The experience concerning the opening of the Graduate Nursing Program in Buenaventura is presented. The process consisted in:
- The elaboration ofthe proposal, based on: the analysis of the area's social conditions; the community's repeated petition and the support given by Universidad del Valle and the Pacific headquarters' board of directors.
-The preparation of Buenaventura's instructors; the organization of courses; the selection of students and the advice the program received.
At the moment, there are 48 students in two promotions admitted.
- The evaluation will probably be made after the third version. This will orient the program's future in Pacific headquarters.
