A área da implantodontia está em constante desenvolvimento e aprimoramento, sendo recorrente o surgimento de novos kits cirúrgicos e protéticos, possibilidades de novos materiais para fabricar os parafusos dos implantes dentários, dentre outras pesquisas. Contudo, um aspecto relevante observado clinicamente, mas pouco discutido, é a precisão das medidas realizadas pelos torquímetros odontológicos e suas possíveis intercorrências, associadas ao uso clínico. Portanto, este artigo visa apresentar ao leitor os principais métodos utilizados para o registro desta escala e induzir a reflexão sobre como estes diferentes métodos, influenciados pelo uso clínico do instrumento, podem vir a afetar seu desempenho.
