@article{Tasamá_Alzate_2017, title={Effectiveness of an educational intervention in oral health among students of the Universidad Santiago de Cali}, volume={24}, url={https://estomatologia.univalle.edu.co/index.php/revista_estomatologia/article/view/5797}, DOI={10.25100/re.v24i2.5797}, abstractNote={<p><strong>Aim: </strong>The purpose of this article, is to know the impact on dental health of an educational process and clinical tests on a bimonthly basis and by applying the Cariograma software, monitors and controls the presence or absence of risk factors of caries in university students aged 16 to 35 years.</p> <p><strong>Materials and Methods: </strong>121 students from the Universidad Santiago de Cali,were examined and controlled periodically by 60 students of dentistry, during an academic semester, using the Cariograma of Bratthal as a tool for assessment.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>We compared the results of data obtained at the beginning of the research and those who were at the end of the school semester</p> <p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>We found significant differences in use carbohydrates from the diet, decreased plaque and improvement of the salivary buffer jit vuales close to neutrality level.</p> <p><strong>Key words: </strong>Risk factors, cariogram, carbohydrates, salivary buffer.</p>}, number={2}, journal={Revista Estomatología}, author={Tasamá, Carlos-Emiro and Alzate, Rodrigo-Alberto}, year={2017}, month={Sep.} }
